An affiliate is a company we own or control, a company that owns or controls us, and a company that is owned or controlled by the same company that owns or controls us.  Ownership does not mean complete ownership, but means owning enough to have control.

A nonaffiliated third party is a company that is not an affiliate of ours.

Security Procedures North Valley Bank Uses to Protect Your Information

We maintain security standards and procedures to help prevent unauthorized access to confidential information about you.  We update and test our technology to improve the protection of and to assure the integrity of our information about you.  For our Internet Banking applications, we have implemented commercially reasonable security systems to protect personal information.  All information sent to us on these applications is encrypted during the transmission from you personal computer.  While you can use e-mail to contact us with questions or concerns, please note that e-mail may not be a secure method of communication.  We recommend that you do not send confidential information such as account numbers via e-mail.

In order to be certain that information is not provided to someone who is pretending to be you, we will establish security procedures from time to time to confirm your identity.  You must take reasonable precautions to maintain the confidentiality of any passwords or PINs (personal identification numbers) that you select or that are assigned by us.  We will not be responsible for any losses or damages if your actions or inaction contribute to someone else gaining access to your password(s) or PIN(s).
